Change Date Night up and Loosen up!
To often we, as a married couple, lose sight of them importance of our marriage. The weekend comes around and by the end of the day we find our selves staring into our phones aimlessly giggling at ourselves. Then also throw in that you have very small children that solely rely on you so you can’t leave your home! That is when an at home date night is NEEDED! Yes, I said needed. In order to have a happy family it takes time to make sure to stay best friends with the one you made the life long commitment too!
Get to Know Each Other Again
Just think back to the early days, when dating was exciting! In a few short weeks my husband and I will have hit 10 years of being together, 4 of which we were married, and a reminder is sometimes all we need. Especially with being parents, it sometimes takes remembering our kids will look up to our marriage as something they want to strive for. So take the time and get to know each other again!
Date Night Ideas
Here are some fun at home date night ideas that are a bit “outside of the box”!
1. Target Run Date Night
Therefore, this is a fun one because it doesn’t have to be Target! I can be any store you want!
This at home date night idea came from the hight of 2020! Also, it became a Tik Tok challenge that arguably is probably one of the best challenges around since then.
The goal of this at home date night idea is to purchase items that remind you of them.
For example here are some examples of things you could purchase for at home date night:
- Buy out something that reminds you of them
- Pick our their favorite food or snack(s).
- Pick out something of their favorite color
- Choose something they would use everyday
- Something they would wear
- Surprise Gift!
This at home date night could become a bit costly but you could always set a budget or go all out! This is an opportunity to really go all out and show them how well you know each other!
2. Around the World Dinner Date Night
This at home date night idea came from my personal love for Australia! I love the atmosphere and all year around summer!
With this idea the point is to work together to create meal either from one country or from multiple different countries! Work together to learn new skills and eat some good food on the way!
3. Create Together Date Night
This date idea came from a date night that my husband and I choose to do once! And that was to make candles!
Again you can put as much or as little money into each date night. This idea works really well for couples that don’t exactly work well in the kitchen together! Pick out something easy and laid-back to learn a new skill together!
Here are some ideas:
- Make Candles
- Adult Coloring Books
- Painting
- Woodworking
4. Dreaming up Goals Date Night
We all have dreams. Some of our goals are big and some of us love to have goals that we reach each day. No matter what the goal is it is important to share with someone you trust and who better than the one you are with!!
Fun Tip: Most people benefit from having visuals! Create a vision board together to help you achieve whatever it is your hearts desire! Whether it is individual or collected!
5. Trivia Date Night
Lastly is trivia night! This at home date night idea is mine and my husbands favorite! You only need two things! Your tv( YouTube), and some snacks!
